Silver Jubilee walk...

You are invited...

The very first question comes in mind, what exactly is a Photo walk?
You take yourself and a camera to a designated meeting place to meet up with other photographers, then venture out into an area and snap away! Walk around taking pictures for a couple of hours, then gather at a place, and compare, share, discuss, and have a good time.

Aim: Photography is the main aim of this "walk". Subjects may include architecture, landscape, macro, portraiture (both candid and arranged). There will be learning exercises and also some teaching, if needed.

Is this Photowalk for me?
This Photowalk is for you, if the answer is ‘Yes’ for any of the below questions;
  •        Have you recently bought a Camera or DSLR and wondering what to do with it? Still clicking in Auto Mode and getting basic quality images?
  •         Are the photographic jargons like Shutter speed, Aperture, ISO and Exposure Metering confusing?
  •         Are you planning to buy a camera and looking for some tips and ideas to click better photos?
  •         Do you have reasonable knowledge in photography and want to make friends for future photo shoots?

Benefits of joining us on a photo-walk
It's an area that you're already familiar with, being there with a group of creative people can help you see things in ways you hadn't noticed before. Or if it's an area you're unfamiliar with, you can get to know the area with other people who may have lived there all their lives! But the best part (I think) is that you get to meet fellow photographers, make new friends, and have fun!

What do you need to bring?
Yourself and a camera. Doesn't matter what kind. If you want to come with a cell phone, go for it. If you want to show up with a top-of-the-line camera and an assortment of lenses and accessories, Great. Just remember that it is a photo walk, so what you bring with you, you'll be carrying the entire time. Personally, I would recommend bringing fairly minimal gear that's versatile so you don't have to change lenses every five minutes. A bottle of water to walk more…

Fee - No Charges, just carry enough money for parking, entrance, food, etc...

We're looking forward to a have great day of fun, photography, and forming new friendships across...

More details below for the Inquisitive little fingers...

Inauguration by renowned organic farmer - Shri Narayana Reddy

Bhoomi Utsav is a festival of organic food and produce, folk art and craft, music, dance and talk… - an event for the entire family!

A whole range of stalls selling mouth watering organic eats, organic cereals, millets and dals, fresh vegetables, arts/crafts await you…

Children can have fun in the crafts and painting corners, accompanied by folk music in the background; tribal dance and music

Kitchen and balcony gardeners can source open pollinated seeds and saplingsm and those interested in green activities can engage in ‘talk sessions’ with specialists in solar energy, bamboo construction, waste recycling and more…

Give your kitchen a holiday! and feast on a yummy and nutritious menu at the Bhoomi Utsav. Bhoomi will tempt you with thambuli, Nochundae, a delicious steamed Vada served with Doddapatre chutney, dhoklas, steamed cutlets, unforgettable KaraKozhakattais, Millet dosas with drumstick leaves and soft Idlies made with unpolished red rice, whole grain breads, millet dishes and much much more…

Organic Food and Consciousness: Along with experience of the exuberance of a mela, you have an opportunity to learn about and buy organic cereals, pulses, cold-pressed oils and more. In several discussion stalls where ‘talk sessions’ happen, you can meet local farmers and organic food suppliers who will discuss various aspects of green living, including the importance of organic foods… How it is grown? Why organic? Do pesticides slow-poison us?

What better way to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti? than to honour the Father of the Nation, who in many ways believed in and advocated an organic way of life. Gandhiji once said, “We must be a part of Nature and not apart from Nature”. This year at the “Bhoomi Utsav” we plan to connect with and felicitate local organic farmers who will be part of our Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations.

The Farmers’ market at heart is about honoring and celebrating local economy, borrowed from Gandhiji’s idea of Swadesh, where people make their livelihood and celebrate the gifts of their local natural resources. You will be sharing their gifts in this one of a kind Santhe, an initiative brought forth by Bhoomi to bridge the gap between the organic producer and the conscious consumer.

Organisers: Bhoomi College, an NGO focused on building 'Earth Consciousness" and action for sustainable living.
